Membership of the National Association of Irish Photographers is in two stages as set out below
Application: 6 Months Membership
On Application for membership of the NAIP you must submit a portfolio of your work containing not less than 10 images and no more than 20 for appraisal.
All images in your portfolio must meet the minimum standard as laid out in the following guidelines.
1. Firm understanding of composition
2. Firm understanding of Depth of Field
3. Firm understanding of Lighting
4. Colour
5. A full understanding of your specific camera and all its functions.
Your portfolio can be submitted on CD, your images should be numbered from 1 to 20 with no indentifying marks or logos.
Full Membership
On Approval of your portfolio you must then apply for your first distinction within 6 months (see here for details)
If your submission is successful you will then be invited to become a full member of the NAIP.
Proof of Business Registration in the form of your CRO number ( only where you are not using your own name)
Proof of Insurance
You will then be issued with your membership card, qualification certificate and NAIP logos to use on your website etc;
ALL IMAGES IN EVERY CASE MUST HAVE BEEN TAKEN WITHIN THE LAST 12 MONTHS ( NO EXCEPTIONS)
